Qui il beat di base è stato prodotto dalla band romana dei Malpensa, già presenti con un feauturing in “Turista per sempre”. Ma se nel precedente singolo era l’amore appena sbocciato ad essere protagonista, in “Kiss V” appare l’altra faccia della medaglia, ovvero le occasioni perse e l’infelicità che ne scaturisce.
Un ragazzo e una ragazza, due punti di vista, una partenza e un ritorno e una falsità che non si riesce a mascherare. Dualità che si inseriscono alla perfezione nell’intero concept dell’album, incentrato sulle scelte da compiere e sulle loro conseguenze.
Decidere quale uscio varcare fra due porte a disposizione e quale decisione prendere è il tema che accompagna tutto il disco e che il cantautore romano declina nelle 10 tracce che lo compongono. Scegliere una compagna, un futuro possibile, scegliere di crescere o restare bambini, di partire o restare, ma anche di cantare o rappare e come delineare il proprio percorso artistico.
LaserSight è un rapper romano classe '90, influenzato dalle sonorità rap originali dagli Articolo 31 fino ai Club Dogo ed in quelle pop degli 883. Inizia ad affacciarsi nel mondo musicale già dall'età di diciotto anni dove inizia per passione i primi lavori autoprodotti con vari esponenti delle scena romana fino al 2012. Dopo un periodo di inattività nel 2015 torna in studio dove incide il suo primo mixtape dal titolo “Cambiamenti”. Le copie fisiche del mixtape vanno sold out nel giro di pochi giorni.
Il suo primo disco ufficiale, dal titolo “Sedotto E Abbandonato” disponibile su Spotify e digital store, è uscito il 31 maggio 2018 in collaborazione con l’etichetta torinese RKH. Il disco è stato prodotto interamente da JO Diana e vanta la collaborazione di artisti emergenti romani e Blue Virus. L’album presenta sonorità rap unite ad un sound pop e dance generi in cui l’artista ci si rispecchia molto e che denota un’evoluzione artistica del rapper.
Il secondo progetto discografico è stato strutturato con il lancio di diversi singoli tutti impreziositi dalla collaborazione con diversi artisti: “Un’estate da ricordare”, “Cadono le stelle” (feat. Rayden), “Voglio il mondo (feat. Yela Kiss)”, “Deluso” (feat. Yota Damore), “Unici” (feat. Calibro 40), “Ti Starò Vicino” (prod. Jack Sapienza) e “Call Back” (feat. Malpensa).
A dicembre 2020 il brano Unici è stato inserito nella compilation “Top Emergenti 2020” realizzata e distribuita da “Music Universe”.
Il 13 maggio è uscito il nuovo Ep del rapper dal titolo “Notturno”che raccoglie 4 tracce corrispondenti ad altrettanti pensieri. Il 5 novembre esce il nuovo album dal titolo “Le Due Porte” con 10 tracce. Il progetto è stato preceduto dai singoli “Limbo” e “Turista Per Sempre”. Ora, come terzo estratto, esce “Kiss V”.

Un manifesto esistenzialista che ha nella voce la sua identità principale

Il primo EP di Melina è un manifesto esistenzialista. La cantautrice si descrive nella maniera più sincera possibile attraverso il suo principale mezzo di comunicazione: la musica. Ne risulta un dialogo con se stessa, con la società che la circonda, con l'astrazione del tempo.
Composto ed arrangiato interamente dalla stessa cantautrice, l’EP contiene quattro brani in italiano, ognuno con un proprio mondo sonoro, caratterizzati da un linguaggio sintetico e profondo. In questo piccolo viaggio esistenziale tra i ritmi latin jazz di “Come hai detto?”, i cori di influenze nordiche di “Non sapermi bastare”, lo scat di “Tempo” e i colori di “Essere semplice”, la voce è sicuramente l'elemento caratterizzante. La sovraincisione delle voci crea, infatti, atmosfere insolite ed affascinanti, a volte buffe, in un costante effetto sorpresa. Nonostante le sonorità insolite, il tutto riesce a muoversi all'interno della leggerezza delle armonie di una canzone pop italiana.
Inoltre, Melina stessa ha realizzato la copertina del disco a mano, facendo un collage con pezzi di giornale tra cui pezzi di quadri di Hilma af Klint.
«Vivo e alimento la mia musicalità tramite l'improvvisazione, che svolge un ruolo fondamentale nella creazione dei miei brani. Per molto tempo ho vissuto nella mia testa, tra i miei sogni visionari, immaginando un giorno in cui avrei avuto i mezzi per comunicare e condividere attraverso la musica. Da questo il titolo dell'EP “Esiste!”, perchè, “Melina” esiste davvero e non è più solo una visione solitaria. Ho scelto di seguire la voce e di trovare un posto nel mondo che fosse adatto a me: da quando ho fatto questa scelta non ho mai smesso di sentirmi nel posto giusto al momento giusto. Questo EP è il primo piccolo passo concreto verso la realizzazione del desiderio di condividere le mie idee con altri musicisti, qualcosa che mi permette di esistere, a modo mio». Melina

Come hai detto?
Canzone dai ritmi latin jazz, è un autoritratto autoironico caratterizzato dalla presenza di molti effetti sorpresa, a sottolineare il bizzarro scontro tra chi racconta e la realtà. Un Inno all'inadeguatezza, all'incomunicabilità ed ai sogni ad occhi aperti. Racconta il disagio di chi vive di una leggerezza non superficiale, di un modo di ascoltare non basato sulle parole ma su ciò che tra le righe e di pancia le situazioni e le persone trasmettono. Non sapermi bastare
In un'atmosfera eterea e sospesa, su un coro leggero e sognante trasportato dal vento, parole che andrebbero urlate vengono sussurrate. Ritratto intimo dello smarrimento e dell'insicurezza, nel finale si apre al cielo in una danza di voci catartica e malinconica per poi dissolversi tornando al punto di partenza. Una nenia da cantare dolcemente a se stessi quando ci si sente privi di direzione, nella vastità di un mondo in cui è molto semplice farsi del male e non sapersi bastare. Brano solista, composto da voci sovraincise e da effetti di tastiera sovrapposti, suonati dalla stessa cantautrice.
Tempo
Una piccola parentesi colorata, il ticchettio frenetico di un orologio vocale. Brano più recente e breve dei quattro, composto da un loop di sole voci, racconta la sensazione del tempo che stringe, l'ansia di essere, di fare e di creare. Un modo per esorcizzare la pesantezza del tempo perso, il dolore delle mani scorticate dal troppo aspettare.
Essere semplice
Un brano che attraversa molte atmosfere: dal riverbero del ticchettio di un orologio in una stanza vuota fino al canto libero e fiero di un sassofono. Dal punto di vista dell'arrangiamento è il brano più sperimentale dell'EP, pieno di voci sovraincise particolari che spaziano tra dolci melodie, bizzarre risatine compiaciute, fischietti, soffi e scricchiolii. Il ritornello è un mantra da cantare quando si è sopraffatti dall'ideale di perfezione che spesso ci imponiamo: “essere semplice, essere reale, non c'è niente più da desiderare”. La società e la nostra natura ci portano ad idealizzare noi stessi, ad avere obiettivi irrealistici che ci fanno solo soffrire. Trovare la propria natura sincera è qualcosa che richiede molta energia perché ci porta a fare i conti con tutti gli strati di ego che indossiamo ogni giorno. La semplicità infatti è una cosa molto complessa a differenza di ciò che si potrebbe pensare. Questo brano invita ad andare oltre la voglia di apparire, oltre il giudizio con cui limitiamo il nostro essere, a ricordarci che siamo “unici ed animali”, quindi imperfetti e liberi, semplici e reali. Carmen Lina Ferrante alias Melina, nasce nel 1996 a Canosa di Puglia (BT) e vive e studia a Bologna dal 2016. Durante la sua vita si è dedicata a tutte le arti: ha studiato Tip Tap per 3 anni, danza classica e contemporanea per 15 anni, ha partecipato come attrice in vari spettacoli del collettivo teatrale della sua città e disegna. Il filo conduttore della sua vita però è sempre stata la musica, respirata in famiglia grazie ai suoi genitori.
Cresciuta tra le note dei cantautori italiani e della musica popolare salentina, si è avvicinata allo studio della musica ad 11 anni, prima con il direttore d'orchestra Salvatore Sica, poi con il pianista jazz Pietro Lomuscio e la cantante Floriana Casiero.
Dopo aver studiato canto moderno, ha scelto di dedicarsi all’improvvisazione vocale con Gianna Montecalvo per poi accedere al conservatorio G.B. Martini di Bologna, dove, con la docente Diana Torto, ha conseguito il Diploma Accademico di I Livello in Canto jazz con lode e menzione d'onore. Parallelamente agli studi accademici ha seguito un percorso individuale di tecnica vocale ma soprattutto di profonda crescita artistica con Albert Hera, specializzato in circlesinging e one man band, con il quale dal 2019 fa parte del gruppo vocale “Real Circle Project”. Con quest’ultimo ha cantato al Moncalieri jazz festival 2019, ha partecipato al convegno "La voce artistica" di Ravenna per la presentazione del microfono a sei dimensioni della Sound6d ed ha preso parte all’opera "Beatrice", composta e diretta da Roger Treece (arrangiatore di Bobby McFerrin candidato a 3 Grammy Awards) con l’Orchestra Sinfonica Nazionale della Rai, Rita Marcotulli, Pino Insegno e Alessia Navarro.
Durante gli anni ha suonato in duo, trio, quartetto, big band jazz ed orchestra classica, con band pop, soul e funky, per svariati eventi, locali e associazioni, tra cui Binario 69, Guasto Village, Cantina Bentivoglio Bologna jazz festival, Moncalieri jazz festival, Italian Swiss jazz Festival, Bologna Festival, Iuc Concerti alla Sapienza e Ferrara Musica.
Nel 2021 ha partecipato al concorso nazionale Chicco Bettinardi per nuovi talenti del jazz italiano vincendo il primo premio della sezione cantanti. Sempre nel 2021 ha registrato il suo primo EP di inediti “Esiste!” dando il via al suo progetto solista “Melina”: influenzata dal pop jazz italiano e da artisti come Agnes Obel, Barbatuques e Tune Yards, ricerca una sonorità che sappia esprimere in modo essenziale, originale e profondo la sua introspettività giocosa e colorata.
