Maybach in Venice: art and luxury cars.

maybach in veniceThe luxury cars brand Maybach is the main sponsor of Julian Schnabel's retrospective: "Julian Schnabel. Permanently Becoming and the Architecture of seeing" - open to the public at Museo Correr in Venice until the 27th of November 2011.

June 21th 2011 – What have in common Venice, the decadent city of the lagoon, and Maybach, the luxury cars brand of the Daimler AG group? Not much, you’d may think, since in Venice it is not possible to drive wheeled vehicles, especially of the imposing size of the giants from Sindelfingen. But the city and the luxury cars brand share similar traits d’union and, you may say, they have a common vocation for the art, besides their uniqueness, allure and their timeless, incomparable elegance.

The ideal union between Maybach and Venice was highlighted by an important retrospective on Julian Schnabel, partner of the German luxury cars brand since 2010. The exhibition, staged at the Museo Correr in the central Piazza San Marco from June 4th to November 27th, has been organized thanks to the collaboration of Maybach as main sponsor.

Alongside the exhibition - “Julian Schnabel. Permanently Becoming and the Architecture of seeing” - an especially realized piece of art was shown to the art lovers during the Biennale days: “The Ones You Didn't Write – The Maybach Car” is a special Maybach vehicle painted by Julian Schnabel together with his protégé Vahakn Arslanian. This collaboration falls within the context of the Wilhelm and Karl Maybach Foundation’s Mentoring Programme. The mission of the luxury cars brand non-profit foundation is to mentor young artists and talented young leaders facing adversity to bring about positive change

Rodent exterminator

Rodents, or rats as they are more commonly known, are astute and very intelligent animals - often more so than man - says Massimo Donadon, the founder and president of Mayer Braün Deutschland.
They actually communicate with each other and warn other rats about any dangerous situations.
The unfortunate rats confronted by Mayer Braün find themselves with products containing popcorn, sunflower seeds, flaked grain, candyfloss, and even plastic. The quality of our raw materials is unique which is why our products have achieved such success and approval in ridding some of the world’s most complex cities of rats (New York, London, Amsterdam, Tokyo, and Dubai).

Targeted Traffic by using Search Engine Optimization and Advertising

It has become common for any business to have targeted traffic. With the advent of search engines it has become even easier for the customers to search for the stuff online. For a website to be successful its link should land in the first three pages which the search engine brings and the rank of the page should be high which means many visitors come to the site. This can be achieved by applying search engine optimization or popularly known as SEO. This is a marketing strategy which increases the quality and quantity of targeted traffic flow to a particular website via search engines.

SEO not only affects the search engine results, but also image search, video search and industry specific vertical search engines. It determines how a search algorithm functions and searches what is popular with people. When a website link is submitted to a search engine, a spider crawls through a page to gather links which lead to other pages and stores those pages on the server of the search engine. The information collected from these pages is sent to the indexer, whose job is to extract information from those pages such as the keywords and their weights, the location of the page and other links that are stored for the spider to crawl in future.

In the beginning, the search engine optimizer algorithms were dependant on the keywords, Meta tags, and index files provided by the Webmaster. Meta tags provided information about a particular page, but using them for indexing the pages didn’t prove to be successful as some Webmasters added irrelevant Meta tags to increase the number of hits and earn huge ad revenue. They even changed the HTML of the web pages to achieve a good rank for the page. But this was a case of abuse as it fetched irrelevant pages.

Search engines then began utilizing complex ranking algorithm, which were difficult for the webmasters to manipulate so as to provide web surfers with genuine results. The rank of the web page was calculated mathematically by functions using strength and quantity of the inbound links. The higher the rank of the page the more chances it had to be viewed by a person. Later algorithms were developed which considered various other on-page factors such as rank and off-page factors such as hyperlink. Since the webmasters couldn’t manipulate the page rank, they began exchanging, selling and buying links, which lead to link spamming and even creation of numerous sites dedicated for this purpose.

Algorithms became more complex by every passing day and top search engines kept their algorithms a secret. As the cost of SEO increased, advertisers were roped in to pay for it, which finally resulted in high quality web pages. Although investing in SEO is very fruitful, but at the same time is risky because with out any prior notice the algorithms being used are bound to change and the search engine will stop directing visitors to the page. Many consultants are available in the market that provides SEO services. They manipulate the HTML source code of the web site like menus, shopping carts and sometimes even the content of the website to draw more targeted traffic. Search engines like Yahoo has algorithms that extract pages not according to the page rank but according to the cost per click or set fee, that is if a advertiser desires that the page containing his ad be displayed, he is expected to pay money for it. This is a point of controversy, as only the big businesses will be able to increase the number of hits of their page but not the small business who might be having a better quality page.

Google Ad Words explores ads which have words typed in the search box by the surfer. The Million Dollar Homepage started the concept of Pixel advertising, which is a graphical kind of targeted traffic. Depending on the pixels, the space is sold to the advertiser. Keyword advertising involves advertisers who buy URLs of a site and place their ads at that location. Thus SEO is a market in its own which is yielding great results for businesses on Internet.

Inflation, public debt and increasing economic uncertainty. Meanwhile, a new record price of gold fluctuates around $ 1,500 an ounce.

New record for gold, that a few days continues to hover around the $ 1,500 an ounce.

To encourage the increased demand has helped the time of great uncertainty that all the major economies of the world are going through, inflation in China, to new tensions in Europe about the money for the states that do not meet the Maastricht rules.

The last bastion to stop the rush collapsed a few days ago, U.S. rating agency Standard and Poor's announced the downgrade of the outlook U.S. public debt from stable to negative. So one of the financial products more attractive to investors, U.S. government bonds, has suddenly become less attractive, this benefit, in fact, the demand for gold.

It's important to remember that gold has increased over the whole of 2010 by 32 percentage points.

The same positive trend can be seen for the silver, during the 2010 grew by over 50%.

Andromeda's wave of light included in the A New Hook Exhibition

The Fluxus sculpture to be exhibited at the Bellerive Museum, a House of Museum fur Gestaltung, in Zurich.
Venice - The Fluxus concept, Andromeda's weavering Murano glass artwork born from the cooperation between Artist Michela Vianello and designer Karim Rashid, was chosen to be included in A New Hook at the Zurich Bellerive Museum of Design. The exhibition sets out to explore current responses to the notion of craft, in particular needlework, in order to examine its impact on art, design andarchitecture. The presence of Fluxus at the exhibition once again proves Andromeda's unique ability in using the secular tradition of the Murano hand made glass as a tool for a contemporary artistic research.

Fluxus: the wave of light and glass

Fluxus is the result of the cooperation between Artist Michela Vianello, whose inspiration gave shape to the overall concept of the sculpture, and designer Karim Rashid, who designed the Knit - individual hand-made glass element. The use of a single design element in an artistic context led up to a suspended and apparently fluid surface consisting of a multitude of elements whose balance derives from the overall composing motion: a fabric of energy flowing through points and lines, creating marked paths and colours able to generate the expression of motion in space. The sole Knit element covers a recurrence of overtones: white to black, passing through 3 nuances of grey to transmit constant visual vibrations. The colour moves continuously in the optical space between the sculpture and the observer capturing an ever-changing three-dimensional effect in its endless harmonization.

Fluxus: technical specs

Technical characteristics of Fluxus are outstanding: it covers a surface area of 60 m², using 80,000 handmade glass Knit elements in 5 colors. 6,000 kg of glass, steel and technology. The structure consists of mirrored hand shaped metal tracks, creating a perpetual sense of an unfinished spiral movement. Running on these tracks are fine cross-beams to which the Knit elements are anchored, attached one by one by means of a technical device created to an original Andromeda design. The lighting is provided by 5,000 punctiform halogen lamps distributed in a network across the internal surface of the wave.

A New Hook: the exhibition

The exhibition "A New Hook. Rethinking Needlework" sets out to explore current responses to the notion of craft, in particular needlework, in order to examine its impact in the discourse of art, design, architecture and everyday life. The return of materiality and processes in contemporary art and design, rediscovering potential in both traditional and innovative materials and techniques, go hand in hand with the current protagonism of knitting and needlework. The public attention expands from glossy celebrity news to the realm of academic and museum discourses, from artistic statements to craft activism, where making things is understood as form of self-sufficience, political statement and community building.

About Andromeda

Andromeda is one of the world's leading brands in luxury custom, hand-made glass lighting design. Set up in Murano in 1972, Andromeda brings a sense of modernity through its original interpretation of aesthetic concepts. Since the 90's, President Gianluca Vecchi starts a series of collaborations involving custom projects with some of the most influential and recognizable names in architecture design. In 2005, Vecchi offers Andromeda's creative direction to Artist Michela Vianello. On October 2nd of 2008, the Eurispes research centre placed Andromeda among the Italy's 100 most innovative companies, including it in the 3rd report on Italian Excellence. David Chipperfield, Pierre Yves Rochon, Imaad Rahmouni, Tobia Scarpa, Norman Foster and the artist Julian Schnabel are just a few of the names Andromeda worked with over the years. Launch a New Business? Start to Create a Mailing List

This is 100% true: getting the attention of people to buy products is challenging. Now as people have approached the digital age, there is a faster way of doing it as that is through hyper responsive opt-in list. This is basically creating a mailing list and sending the information to people which will contribute to sales.

A person can do it in the office or at home and it can only be done if one is serious about making money online. Here are some benefits and features of using hyper responsive opt-in list:

** When a site has been made, it can be used to bring in additional revenue as new people who want to join the business can be charged for advertising.

** Some people will not immediately buy the product that is offered but by keeping the names in the mailing list, it is possible that when a product of interest is on hand, the person will then buy.

** This can also be used to propose joint ventures with other people making the business grow further.

To give further detail how it works, here is the step by the step process:

1) The first thing to do is to determine what customers need
It should be a product or a service that should provide a solution of some kind that will improve the quality of life either at home or at work.

2) The next is to do the proper research
If the business is done with a group of people or a single proprietorship, it is best to brainstorm for the best possible brand or product name. It should be catchy and will easily be remembered.

3) A product of good quality should be sold at a decent price. Sometimes, the product one makes is already available in the market. To be competitive, one must figure out a way to convince people as to why this product is better than the other leading brands. What features does it have that the competitor doesn’t? What makes it unique and what service can it give as well?

4) Just like a normal business, one must acquire the right equipment and machines for the job. These could be merchandise that is either physical or electronic and an online ordering system.

Any business (big or small) must maximize marketing to get the message across. Online business is just one of the new ways of making money. It is up to the person to find that need and take advantage of it.

The color of harmony: Andromeda presents Sublime

Andromeda presents Sublime, a brand new collection characterized by natural and smooth lines and by a chromatic research defined by welcoming and harmonic suggestions. Through the gentleness of lines and the exploration of chromatic shades that spread tranquility, the Sublime collection combines the elegance of smooth proportions to an unlimited versatility of space collocation.

Sublime: the collection and the launch

Born at the end of 2010 and designed in house, the Sublime collection is initially suggested in the 3 classic, primary lighting types – suspension, table, wall – and in 4 evocative colors (Dilly, Fairy, Eden, Flirt).
Just like every Andromeda collection, each single piece of the Sublime collection is designed and custom made according to the architectural parameters of the space it will be collocated into. The collection’s agile dimensions witness the modernity of the artistic research of Andromeda, who once again proves to be able to reinvent the secular tradition of Venice hand made glass into the third millennium. Each piece of the collection is supplied both with candle lights holders and electrical parts, for the personal choice of usage. The collection launch will take place simultaneously worldwide, through Andromeda’s representatives

Launch Your Advertising Web Business in Just 22 Days

As someone who makes it their business to do marketing and advertising for others it may be that the hardest company to promote is yourself. There is nothing wrong with a little shameless self promotion. We are going to look at some reasons that it shouldn't be so difficult and how you can have one that is successful. There may be some things in this article that sound obvious but many times it is the most obvious things that slip by us and confounds our efforts.

The first thing that you need to do is consider yourself a client. What are the things that you do when you are starting an advertising and marketing campaign for someone else.

First you need to have a target market. Who is going to be your target market? Well, everyone. The best thing to do, though, is to look for a niche. Your niche could be small businesses who need very little online presence but who do not have the time, money, knowledge, or resources to pull something like that together. Having that online presence can be incredibly helpful to a small business and you can make it happen. Sure they won't be bringing in the big bucks for you that some huge corporation will have but what you will find is that not only will they be loyal to you, they can get referrals for you and can e easily found. You could even go after a certain niche of small businesses. It could be anything associated with the medical field, or sports, or the outdoors, or any niche. The sky really is the limit. The more you get to know a niche, the better you will be at designing a marketing and advertising campaign around them.

An advertising and marketing campaign for yourself can also be tailored to go after a certain niche. It can also turn off a niche just as easily. Consider all of the tailoring to young, urban and “hip” people. It may have some funky music and slick graphics with swirly things and lots of dancing but will something like that be appealing to a group of doctors...who may, as a niche, have some very deep pockets? Probably not. What about your website that has the goth thing going on or shows some great designs that would be good as a tattoo? Sure it might reflect who you are but does it reflect and draw in those people whose business you need and want. It isn't called selling out to cater to the likes of those whose business you desire. It's called selling.

Several years ago the band Metallica was talking about the criticism they have received for trying to reach a broader market. Their lead singer, James Hetfield, said “sure we sold out....every seat in the house.” The successful strategies used will take note of these things. The marketing and advertising you do for your own business will be successful online if you make yourself as appealing as possible to as wide a range of people as possible on the Internet.

Camerette ecologiche

Newbies... The Easy Way to Sell Stuff on eBay

I just cleaned out my attic and garage and found that I had a whole pile of stuff I needed to get rid of. I hated the idea of dumping this stuff out by the curb for the garbage collector to pick up, especially since some of these things still had plenty of useful life in them. I had an old mantle clock, some really nice picture frames, some empty suitcases, and a collection of movies I hadn't watched in ages. So rather than junk everything, I decided it was time to sell stuff on eBay.

I'd never really used an online auction site before but I figured it couldn't be too difficult to sell stuff on eBay, so I went over to the site and looked around a bit. No doubt there were plenty of people selling lots of similar items through the auction site, so I knew that I should be able to do so as well. I checked the various categories that eBay has for their listings, and I found that there are a vast number of sections where items can be posted for sale.

After poking around a while I decided that I was ready to get started. Just like many other sites on the Internet, an auction site like eBay is going to require you to set up an account and create a profile before you begin to take advantage of their service. So I decided I would create an account, and it only took me a few minutes to get my information entered and verified, and within no time at all I was ready to sell stuff on eBay.

Next, I had to create some listings for the items I wanted to sell. In order to make that a bit easier on myself, I did a search using eBay's simple search field and found people selling the same sorts of things I had to offer. After all, if I planned to sell stuff on eBay for the first time, I might as well take advantage of other people's experience and expertise, right? Within a half an hour I had found several auction listings that were similar to my own items, and I used these listings as a guide for creating mine. To me, that's a smart way to sell stuff on eBay: find out what works and duplicate it.

In the end, I found that it was pretty darned easy to sell stuff on eBay, and now that I've got the hang of it, I'll probably do it a lot more often. In a matter of a little over a week I sold all but one of those items from the attic and the garage, and I stand to pocket over $100 from things I would have otherwise put out by the curb for the trash collector. To my mind, that's a big win.

Engineered Stone: das Product fur nachhaltiges Bauen mit Stein!

A.St.A. Europe, the European Association of Engineered Stone Producers, will present an event in Berlin on the theme of Engineered Stone: das Product fur nachhaltiges Bauen mit Stein!

On 31st March 2011, at 10:30 a.m., at Italia Palace, on the corner of Unter den Linden – Charlottestrasse, the exhibit of a wide range of construction and furnishing products will take place, presented by the Associate Companies.
Following the exposition, at 6:00 p.m., a technical seminar will be held to illustrate the properties of these products, followed by a round table on the theme of sustainable construction with Engineered Stones.
All of the most important companies in the sector have already adhered to the initiative. Remember that these companies, spread throughout nine countries in the Mediterranean area (Portugal, Spain, Italy, Germany, Belgium, The Czech Republic, Romania, Israel and Turkey) market some 20 million square metres per year of products, representing over 95% of European production and almost 80% of the world production of Engineered Stones.Although they definitely represent a niche sector, Engineered Stones are extremely important.

There are two primary fields of application: construction and furnishing, where a typical example is for kitchen or bathroom counters. There are also technical reasons for the success of engineered stones. In fact, they have generally superior performance with respect to natural stone, both in terms of physical and mechanical resistance, and this permits the use of small thicknesses. This is a winning trait, because it implies the possibility to reduce weights, making movement and installation easier and less costly. Additionally, they can be designed and manufactured cut to size, according to the specifications of the final user. In this sense, the term “Engineered Stones” seems to be truly appropriate to define this material.

The continuous research to ensure the sustainability of these materials in the construction sector and their consequently minimal environmental impact makes them particularly modern. The aspect of environmental sustainability of the product also has obvious practical implications. One of the reasons the European Association was created was to introduce the producers on the level of the European Economic Community, with concrete and precise answers concerning their environmental compatibility, because in future, the CE marking, in addition to guaranteeing the requirements of safety already emanated, must provide information concerning the environmental compatibility and sustainability of these materials.

The answer is simple: affiliate marketing and Google Adsense.

The Google Adsense program allows you to put relevant advertising on your own blog or Web site. That means you can get a share of Google's pay-per-click (also known as "PPC") revenue by displaying the Google PPC ads. Just copy the code and paste it into your own site or blog and within moments you'll have Google's contextual advertising PPC ads on your own web property. Now that's making money easy.

In addition, you can earn revenue on your blog or Web site through affiliate marketing. Here's how it works: you provide links from your site to the sales pages of other online businesses. As an affiliate, you get a unique code that you embed in the links on your site. If someone reading your site or blog clicks through to the merchant's site, you're making money easy because you get a portion of their purchase amount. One of the most popular affiliate marketing programs is available through Amazon, the world's largest online retailer. Amazon sells a huge variety of products, so it is very likely that you'll find many items to link to at Amazon. Simply sign up for their affiliate program, receive your unique affiliate ID, and place the links on your site or blog.

From Web sites to blogs, you can turn your information into cash. Consider Google's Adsense contextual advertising program or affiliate marketing programs like those offered by Amazon and you could be adding to your income very quickly.

Maybach Guard. A high level of protection encapsulated in luxurious curves

maybach manufakturBased on the Maybach 62, the armoured Maybach Guard offers similar performance and possibilities of customization available on the other Maybach saloons.

March 1st 2011 – Comfort, individualization, luxury and a very high level of safety. These requirements are satisfied to the letter on the Maybach Guard, the luxurious armoured limousine realized with integrated safety systems by the German engineers in Sindelfingen.

Responding to the needs of businessmen and Heads of State around the world, the protection offered is absolutely peerless and discreet: even to a specialist eye it is almost impossible to distinguish a Maybach Guard from the regular Maybach 62 saloon. When it comes to the performance, the German engineers have surpassed themselves: a special armour - made of highly specialized steel and high-tech Kevlar – is integrated in the body shell and thanks to its lightness, the weight of the vehicle is raised by only 406 kg, with no effects on the handling system.

In fact, since the base of the Maybach Guard was already de-signed for the extra weight of the vehicle, no changes have been made to the drive train, suspension or breaking-system and the car handles effortlessly at all times. Furthermore, the Maybach Guard is the only armoured car in the world able to reach a top speed of 250 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 5.7 seconds. To guarantee effectiveness the armour is certified by independent state bodies which carry out on-the-spot quality control checks and can immediately revoke their certification.

After the integration of the other special protective features, the vehicle moves onto the standard assembly room in the Sindelfingen production plant, where masters of craftsmanship dedicate all their skills to ensure the highest standard in the individualization process, offering almost the same range of standard and optional features available on the Maybach 62 model, ensuring this way the same luxurious environment that passengers are used to enjoy on a Maybach.

Web site performance: your conversion rate

So which is more important, to please the visitors or the search engine spiders? The unequivocal answer is to please the visitors. What good is a website that attracts spiders but not actual people? This is an important concept.

Setting up a website is the very first step of an Internet marketing campaign, and the success or failure of your site depends greatly on how specifically you have defined your website goals. If you don't know what you want your site to accomplish, it will most likely fail to accomplish anything. Without goals to guide you in developing and monitoring your website, all your site will be is an online announcement that you are in business.

If you expect your site to stimulate some form of action, whether it is visitors filling out a form so a representative can contact them, or purchasing a product, there are steps you can take to insure that your website is functioning at peak efficiency. One of the first indicators of how well your site is working for you is finding out the number of visitors in a given period of time. A good baseline measurement is a month in which you haven't been doing any unusual offline promotional activities.

However, just because hoards of people have passed through your gates does not mean your site is successful. Usually, you want those visitors to actually do something there. It is equally important to monitor the number of visitors to your site who made a purchase. This figure is called the site conversion rate, and it is an essential element of the efficacy of your website.

To find the site conversion rate, take the number of visitors per month and figure out the percentage of them that actually performed the action your site is set up for. For example, if you had 2,000 hits to your site, but only 25 of them purchased your product, your site conversion rate equals 1.25%. To get this figure, take your number of visitors and divide that figure by the number of visitors who made a purchase. Then divide that result by 100 (25 ?00 X 100).

If your website is set-up to get visitors to fill out a form, make sure to then figure out what the difference is between your site conversion rate and your sales conversion rate. This is because not everyone who fills out your form will actually become your customer. However, whether your site is set-up to sell a service or product, or to get the visitor to fill out a form, the site conversion rate will measure the success or failure of your website whenever you make changes to the site.

You may find that you need to implement some additional marketing strategies if you find that traffic to your site is extremely low. There are several effective methods to improve the flow of traffic to your website, particularly launching a search engine optimization campaign. This campaign is targeted at increasing your position in search engine results so that consumers can find your pages faster and easier. You can either research the steps you need to take to improve your search engine rankings, or employ a search engine optimization company to do the work for you. In either case, after your have improved your search engine positions, make sure you keep on top of them by regular monitoring and adjusting of your efforts to maintain high positions.

Another factor to examine is how easy it is for a visitor to your website to accomplish the action the site is set-up for. For example, if your goal is for the visitor to fill out a form, is this form easily accessible, or does the visitor have to go through four levels to get to it? If it's too difficult to get to, the customer may just throw in the towel and move on to another site. Make sure your buttons are highly visible, and the path to your form or ordering page quickly accessible.

Finally, have a professional evaluate the copy on your website. The goal is, of course, to get your visitor to make a purchase or fill out your form. Website copy must be specifically geared to your online campaign and not just a cut and paste job from your company brochure. The right copy can make the difference between profit and loss in your online campaign.
