“La tua rivoluzione” è il personale adattamento del cantautore romano - e unica cover in Italiano - del famoso brano del 1988 di Tracy Chapman “Talkin ‘bout a revolution”. Mauto ne pubblica una versione acustica, registrata a casa, il primo maggio del 2020, come reazione e segno di speranza in quel difficile momento, ricevendo l’apprezzamento della stessa Tracy Chapman, espresso dai propri canali social.

«In una data così importante e prima ancora che si scatenassero gli eventi tragici che stanno continuando in questo momento, avevo il desiderio di riportare la speranza in primo piano e lanciare questo grido di rinascita: il mio augurio è che la musica e le parole ci aiutino a superare il disorientamento e la paura, e ci facciano riconoscere tutti umani, consapevoli di un unico e solidale viaggio» Mauto. 

La nuova versione elettrica, con Paolo Fabbrocino alla batteria e Francesco Luzzio al basso, registrata dal vivo al Mob Studios di Roma da J. G. Ricotti, è nata dalla voglia di suonare finalmente insieme ed unire, oltre alle armoniche del suono, quelle dell’anima dei musicisti. 

È questa versione ad uscire il 25 Aprile 2022 su tutte le piattaforme digitali insieme alla precedente versione acustica, come una sorta di vecchio “45 giri”, ad anticipare il suono e le atmosfere di quello che sarà il nuovo album del cantautore romano, previsto in uscita ad autunno.

Tutto il progetto è prodotto da Domenico D’Angelo (Emigma, Modern Talking, Ray Charles) per Eea Music.

Nato a Roma nel 1975, Gianfranco Mauto ha scoperto la musica all'improvviso, in una stanza della scuola media. Pianista, fisarmonicista ed autore, ha ottenuto vari premi e riconoscimenti (Poggio Bustone, Pigro, MEI, Donida, Biella Festival) e nel 2014 è stato tra i finalisti del Talent GenovaXVoi oltre ad esibirsi sul Palco Smeraldo di Eataly a Milano.

Nel 1999 è stato tra i fondatori di CiaoRino, il primo tributo a Rino Gaetano, ed ha suonato e collabora tuttora con artisti italiani e stranieri (Il Volo, Tomy Renis, Kacey Musgraves, Kevin Costner, Amedeo Minghi, Daniele Silvestri, Niccolò Fabi, Simone Cristicchi).

Nel 2012 ha pubblicato il primo album “Cosa Cambia” il cui tour è durato quasi quattro anni e lo ha visto esibirsi in numerosi concerti in tutta Italia.

Nel 2018 è uscita la sua prima raccolta di poesie “E tutto si riveste di nuovo” per l’editore Terre Sommerse (Roma).

Il 1 maggio 2020 è uscito il brano “La tua rivoluzione”, adattamento in italiano del famoso brano “Talkin’ about a revolution” di Tracy Chapman. 

Attualmente Mauto sta promuovendo il doppio lavoro discografico “Il Tempo Migliore” (versione studio e acustica). La prima parte di questo progetto è stata pubblicata il 27 Novembre 2020, anticipato dal singolo “L’Itaglia (Aida s’è persa)”, la seconda da “Nero bianco e blu”, inedita lirica di Piero Ciampi musicata da Mauto e cantata in duetto con Miranda Martino.

Il singolo “Non mi va” nasce dallo spirito osservatore di Garibaldi che ritiene l’attenzione la chiave di accesso per la trasformazione. 

Il testo racconta di un soggetto che non si rispecchia più nella società in cui sta vivendo, una società distopica, logorante, dove non esiste meritocrazia, non ci sono più valori e si tende a vivere come automi con un percorso prestabilito da dettami preconfezionati, convinzioni, strutture mentali (gabbie).

Il personaggio all’interno del brano cerca una sua strada, abbandonando la sua zona comfort, esce dagli schemi e va alla ricerca di un luogo dove ognuno può ancora ambire ad una vita piena e vera. Questo viaggio, ancor prima dell’esteriorità, si compie nell’introspezione, volto al cambiamento delle proprie strutture di pensiero. 

Il protagonista non cede mai al lamento, la sua ricerca è sempre protesa al solo obiettivo della crescita personale. 

Il progetto Garibaldi è il frutto di un percorso intrapreso dal  cantautore Simone Alessio dopo aver scritto il brano omonimo. Nasce dallo spirito di osservazione e dalle  domande che si pone sulla vita e le risposte che si da sono nel testo: si potrebbe dire che la nascita di una canzone coincida con la risposta data alla sua ricerca. Il nome Garibaldi evoca per lui unione e fratellanza, scevri da risvolti di natura  politica, ma solo di natura  emotiva ed empatica.

I testi di matrice filosofica/ironica  mettono in rilievo argomenti complessi semplificati dall’artista con immagini allegoriche e aperte a differenti interpretazioni.

Garibaldi, all’anagrafe Simone Alessio, nasce a Imperia il 1 Marzo 1989. 

Fin da bambino è attratto dalla musica e in particolare dal cantautorato italiano. 

Nel febbraio del 2017 esce il suo primo singolo ufficiale folk dal titolo “Mi e Ti” in dialetto ligure. Tra aprile e maggio dello stesso anno pubblica un secondo singolo e video musicale dal titolo  “Traccia di te”, il brano riscuote un buon successo.

Immerso nei pensieri comincia a fare un resoconto della propria vita, analizzando fatti e avvenimenti, cercando di trovare dei punti comuni tra loro, cercando il radiante dell'angolo preso dalla propria vita. 

Frase dopo frase ogni pezzo compone una strada, un’indicazione. Ogni crisi, difficoltà, sbaglio, sono stati commessi ricercando il bene e questo è il senso unico del viaggio condotto fino a qui.

Biagiotti è autore e compositore.

La sua passione per la musica emerge già alle elementari dove, grazie al coro dell’istituto, riproduce brani popolari di contenuto folkloristico. Proprio qui si forma l’artista che ancora oggi riporta nei testi storie ispirate a chi vive ai margini della società o fa parte della classe operaia.

Decide di iscriversi al conservatorio di Firenze Luigi Cherubini e di specializzarsi nella disciplina di nuove tecnologie. Il conservatorio lo avvicina alla composizione della musica elettroacustica sperimentale, il culmine lo raggiunge inscenando uno spettacolo sulla base di una propria composizione a Manhattan nel 2014 chiamata “Rhapsody Rain”.

Il viaggio negli Stati Uniti gli apre una visione della musica più urban e più underground, tornato in Italia inizia a produrre composizioni con influenze elettroniche sperimentali con l’obiettivo di arrivare ad un pubblico più ampio.

Nel 2016 inizia a pubblicare i primi brani e video sulla piattaforma di YouTube sotto lo pseudonimo di Biagiotti e dopo poco su Spotify con diversi singoli dal taglio trap. 

La trasformazione dell’artista in un’identità più definita, estroversa e senza paura di osare, è completa. Nel 2019 è a Torino a suonare sul palco de LE GRU, lì conosce la sua futura moglie e decide di fare pianta stabile nella città piemontese dalle grandi opportunità.

Durante i vari lockdown si è dedicato ad affinare i suoi testi, ricercando ed ispirandosi all’elettro-pop degli anni ‘80.

EUSEBIO MARTINELLI GIPSY ORKESTAR “Sbam!” è il nuovo album che segna la rinascita del gruppo del cantautore emiliano

  Un manifesto di rinnovamento in quanto a sonorità e temi trattati. Rappresenta la volontà di esplorare orizzonti e generi nuovi restando fedeli unicamente all’identità Gipsy.

“SBAM!” è l’album che segna una svolta nel sound e nel mindset della band, che si rinnova e trova il suo nucleo operativo nel trio Eusebio Martinelli, Giuseppe Tortorelli (Joe Pantera) e Jacopo Tommasoni (Jack Citronella).

Insieme, i tre scrivono, arrangiano e producono quello che definiscono “il disco della vita”, della ripartenza post covid, dei futuri concerti e della nascita di un figlio per Eusebio.

«Siamo Gipsy dentro e non fuori, non siamo balkan, non siamo folk, non siamo rock, siamo ciò che la nostra curiosità musicale ci spinge a ricercare, senza limiti o preconcetti.

In questo disco abbiamo utilizzato molti suoni assurdi e particolari, ma non abbiamo rinunciato alla nostra natura di musicisti. Infatti è molto “suonato”, con gli strumenti che usiamo sempre e che porteremo anche dal vivo.

Semplicemente abbiamo ricercato nuove possibilità esplorando tutte quelle fornite dai nostri strumenti abituali, come la tromba, che assume mille timbri e ruoli, senza rinunciare all imprescindibile stile di Eusebio». 

Anche le chitarre di Jacopo Tommasoni vengono usate in svariati modi per ottenere il maggior numero di timbri differenziati per ogni pezzo, e si trasformano in un un contrabbasso slap gitano in “Tratto leggero”, in un oud arabo in “Alter-ego”, arrivando a snaturarsi completamente per produrre i suoni sintetici di “Calma apparente”.

Tutta la ritmica invece è frutto del lavoro certosino di Giuseppe Tortorelli, che ha architettato lo scheletro e la struttura con il sapiente mix di batterie, percussioni e drum machine. Tortorelli e Tommasoni hanno inoltre curato l’arrangiamento e il sound design.

Per la band, essere Gipsy prescinde dal genere musicale, significa tenere fede ad uno spirito di movimento, avventura ed emozione in ogni circostanza, anche durante i periodi bui, anche se i temi che affrontiamo sono introspettivi e profondi.

Possiamo sperimentare qualunque genere, suonare ogni tipo di strumento e parlare dei temi più disparati, senza perdere la nostra natura primordiale, senza rinunciare all’energia, al movimento e alla danza.

Il centro gravitazionale della band sono i concerti, l’energia del live, il contatto con le persone e l’annullamento di ogni barriera fra palcoscenico e pubblico. 

TRACK BY TRACK 

1. Calma apparente - La frase con cui si apre il disco - “Finalmente si balla!” - è un inno di liberazione dopo l’incredibile periodo della pandemia, in cui tutto è cambiato. Calma apparente è un concetto sempre utilizzato nel nostro dizionario e sta ad indicare quello stato in cui sai che sta per succedere qualcosa e devi tenerti pronto ad ogni evenienza. Ma è anche la condizione della vita, dei viaggi, dei dolori e dell’amore, che ti fa stare bene e male, ti salva e ti uccide, ti lascia ad aspettare.

2. Iguana crash - Il crash “è uno stato della mente”, è un cortocircuito che nasce spontaneamente nei momenti più inaspettati, ad una festa, a pranzo con gli amici, a scuola o al lavoro. È un momento di riflessione interiore, di abbandono, di contemplazione del vuoto, anche di meditazione (perché no?). ​​L’iguana è la metafora che meglio coglie il desiderio di comfort zone, contro le richieste di resistenza, prestazione e potenza che la società ci chiede. 

3. Tratto leggero (feat. Cisco e Tonino Carotone) - È il brano di chi passa attraverso la storia senza lasciare traccia, di chi resta invisibile pur essendo concreto e pur vivendo grandi tragedie o avventure, che è un po’ la storia di tutti noi, che per quanto possiamo sentirci importanti alla fine non lasceremo alcuna traccia con le nostre impronte.

Due grandi artisti sono ospiti in questo brano: Stefano Cisco Bellotti, ex cantante dei Modena City Ramblers, che con il suo enorme carisma e la sua musica ha passato la vita a dare voce agli invisibili con canzoni che hanno fatto la storia.

Tonino Carotone è l’altro artista che in questo brano apporta il suo contenuto filosofico e ci spiega che la vita sarà anche una scatola vuota o senza forma, ma una cosa è sicura: “La vida es una consecuencia del amor”.

4. Round the fire - Un grido di gioia per la nascita di Leone, il figlio di Eusebio.

È il primordiale desiderio di portare il proprio figlio con sé, intorno al fuoco, ai concerti, con la banda che festeggia la sua nascita, lasciandosi dietro tutto quanto.

Il tuo pensiero diventa emozione, e ogni considerazione sul mondo te la insegna tuo figlio semplicemente regalandoti il sole e lasciandoti senza la necessità di dare spiegazioni. 

Il brano vede la collaborazione con la giovanissima Emma Forni, talento emergente dalla voce incredibile che canta insieme alla Gipsy OrkeStar intorno al fuoco!

5. Babadochia - È il ritorno all’età della pietra, è il momento in cui ritroviamo la nostra natura più remota tornando ad abbracciare le nostre origini e l’atmosfera dell’est Europa. Ruvido come la chitarra, carnale e alienante, mescola istinti primordiali e desiderio di irrazionalità.

Ispirato al mito rumeno di Baba Dochia, la donna che pur di sfuggire al suo destino decide di trasformarsi in dura roccia.

6. Baila - È il brano che ci fa sognare, quello in cui ci lasciamo andare e ci tuffiamo dentro ad un miraggio. È il brano da serata giusta, quando l’atmosfera è brillante e la notte è stellata.

7. Alter ego - È il cuore gitano e fuori di testa che corre, grida e impazzisce ridendo come un pagliaccio dal cuore infranto.

Non c’è tempo per pensare, bisogna dare una forma al caos e si può fare solo in movimento.

Questo brano contiene tutta l’energia e la follia della EMGO, dei loro concerti, senza fiato, un treno impazzito che avanza e trascina con sé tutti quelli che lo osservano.

8. Ja Kuzzi remix - Anche in SBAM!, come in tutti i precedenti album di Eusebio, l’ultimo brano è stato realizzato da un DJ della scena musicale internazionale, il quale ha realizzato la versione “remix” di un brano tratto dal disco precedente della Eusebio Martinelli Gipsy OrkeStar. Il brano scelto a tale scopo è stato lo spumeggiante “Ja Kuzzy” e il DJ che ne ha fatto il remix è il mitico Robert Passera, pioniere della musica cocktail-lounge all’italiana dagli anni ’80 ad oggi. 

Come da tradizione il brano remix dell’album farà da accompagnamento musicale al momento dei saluti finali al pubblico in tutti gli spettacoli live della EMGO per lo SBAM! tour 2022.

EMGO (acronimo per Eusebio Martinelli Gipsy Orkestar) nasce dalla mente di Eusebio Martinelli, che dopo una lunga carriera in collaborazione con grandi artisti (Capossela, Bregovich, Negramaro, Sud Sound System, Biagio Antonacci, Modena City Ramblers, Calexico, Demo Morselli, Mark Ribot, Kocani Orkestar e tanti altri) decide di concentrare la sua solida esperienza nel progetto che da ormai 10 anni infiamma le piazze e i festival di tutta Italia ed Europa.

Con i primi tre album, la band dà vita a importanti collaborazioni e tour, arrivando ad attraversare tutti i Paesi europei, da Marsiglia a San Pietroburgo.

Durante la pandemia nascono ben due album, di cui il primo, “Trumpet Explosion”, apre gli orizzonti della band anche verso la musica colta e il mondo dei teatri, in cui Eusebio esprime il proprio virtuosismo e l’amore per la musica di autori come Chopin, Brahms e Paganini, avendo ulteriormente migliorato la propria tecnica studiando intensamente in lockdown.
